Curriculum

At Longmeadow, we are continually working to develop our curriculum, so that it is robust and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for our children to be successful. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and to boost our childrens' confidence, self-esteem and desire to learn.

Much of our curriculum is based on researched and planned schemes (Kapow, JIGSAW and HFL) that provide opportunities for the sequential building of knowledge and vocabulary. However, we recognise that, as a school, we are unique and carefully adapt these lessons to engage our children and meet their learning needs. 

Teachers establish links to prior learning, revisit key concepts that have been taught and build upon what the children know to ensure ‘sticky knowledge’.
