Attendance

attendance poster

If your child is unable to come to school, please notify the school office on the first day of their absence by 9 am. In your message please give a reason for your child's absence (i.e. temperature, vomiting) and a likely return date.  To report an absence, please contact our school on 01438 351087 and choose option 1 or speak to Georgina Blott, in the school office who is our school's Attendance and Admissions Administrator

Please be aware, if your child has had an episode of diaorrhea or vomiting, they must be kept off school for 48 hours after the last incident.

Please see the attached guidance from the NHS which provides advice for parents and carers on when children can return to school and how to treat the most common childhood illnesses.
Is my child too ill for school? - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

We have high expectations for our pupils and expect children to arrive at school on time EVERY DAY.

School starts at:

8:40 am for EYFS & KS1 (Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2)
8.45 am for KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6)

On arrival, children go straight into class for registration and challenge activities.

Please note that we do not authorise absence during term time unless in exceptional circumstances which needs to be authorised by our Headteacher, Lynne Osborne.  Please complete the following Absence Forms to make school aware that your child will be absent from school or email admin@longmeadow.herts.sch.uk.

Please see our term dates with information regarding our Occasional and INSET Days. These are days when our school is closed to pupils.

Attendance Awards

Each week, in our Friday assembly, we celebrate the class with the highest and also the most improved attendance. The class receives a certificate and a class treat they have chosen as a group.

At the end of the year, the families of children with 97% attendance or higher are invited to an extra special celebration assembly.
